The 5-Minute Fundraising Ask:

Build & Maintain your Mid-Level Donor Relationships through Quick, Authentic, and Successful Phone Conversations

Nonprofits are stumped about how to build and maintain mid-level donor relationships.

I teach non-profits to grow their Mid-Level donor relationships through quick, authentic, & successful phone conversations.

• Mid-Level Donors need more engagement than an email newsletter, but it’s not possible to take each of them out to lunch (there’s a reason for the “messy-middle nickname”!).

• Facing an enormous Mid-Level Donor goal can feel overwhelming, perplexing, and even impossible.

• And on top of it all, building/maintaining Mid-Level Donor relationships is only ONE of the countless items on your to-do list.

I get it - you don’t have time to “re-invent the wheel” of Mid-Level Giving.

But chasing Mid-Level Donations doesn’t have to be an impossible task that sucks up all your time.

Instead, let’s “pick up the phone” and build Mid-Level relationships through candid & efficient 5-Minute phone conversations.

Secure Mid-Level Donations through Authentic Fundraising Conversations You Can Feel Good About

• Surpass your (loftiest) fundraising goals: Confidently make “shoot for the moon” fundraising Asks that are customized specifically to who YOU are as a fundraiser

• Right-size the time you spend fundraising: Quickly learn valuable new information about your donor base, while raising money with less effort

• Build a culture of relationship-driven philanthropy: Actively listen to your potential donors and cultivate authentic, curious, and confident fundraising

• I’ve personally made 20,000+ Fundraising Asks (over the phone!)

• I’ve trained hundreds of fundraisers at 50+ Non-Profit Organizations

• I’ve empowered fundraisers to raise +$16M (primarily in donations under $2K)

5-Minute Fundraising Ask Training Program

5-Minute Fundraising Ask Training: for non-profits who want to guide their entire fundraising team (and/or entire staff/board) on how to “pick up the phone” and engage in their own 5-Minute Fundraising Asks with Mid-Level donors.

Retainer-based Training/Consulting/Coaching: for nonprofits who want to build a longer term, deeper, more strategic plan for building/maintaining Mid-Level donors.

“Our work at Broadway Unlocked/All Together Now sits at an incredibly innovative and future-facing nexus - it can be a difficult space for traditional live experience folks to dive into. Kel has a killer combo of innovative thinking, deep traditional expertise and unbridled creativity that has allowed her to apply her fundraising consultancy to our new landscape and get real results for our clients and collaborators. Results that we simply couldn't have achieved by ourselves. She's our first call any time we're working on integrating Devo teams into live digital programming.”

  • Not only did Kel allay our fears, she created a outbound fundraising campaign focused first and foremost on how folks were doing in this unprecedented time

"When Page 73 began working with Kel Haney in May 2020, we trusted her extensive experience with other organizations like ours and her reputation for focusing on human connection. It was early in the pandemic, and we were unsure if reaching out to our audience was the appropriate move. Not only did Kel allay our fears, she created a outbound fundraising campaign focused first and foremost on how folks were doing in this unprecedented time. She believed that the response would be overwhelmingly positive, and she was right!"

    -Rebecca Yaggy

Methodology

After spending twenty years as a theater director, I've developed a fundraising methodology that’s based on how I led a rehearsal room: focusing on what makes each of us unique and engaging. I empower artists, administrators, board members with the knowledge that they already possess the most critical tools needed to be skilled fundraisers: empathy, candor, vulnerability, enthusiasm, and storytelling.

Collaborations

I’ve collaborated with such organizations as MCC Theatre, Signature Theatre, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Manhattan Theatre Club, The O’Neill Theater Center, New York Theatre Workshop, Page 73 Productions, Marin Theatre Company, BroadwayUnlocked, The Glimmerglass Festival, American Composers Forum, and Undue Medical Debt.

In addition, I’m the Vice-President of Chebeague Island Community Association (CICA), where I’m focused on finding creative solutions for year-round, affordable housing.
